Description
The Trout Thumper is the first Bugg I designed with speckled trout in mind. It worked very well, but over the years I discovered several ways to make this bait more effective. I incorporated every one of them into the 2nd Generation Trout Thumper, and I absolutely can’t wait to get them into your hands! These improvements include: Larger, more reflective Eyes. Custom Chenilles to match the baits, including metallics and UV reflective fibers. Larger Tail for More THUMP! Downsized Profile to better imitate baitfish and for better hook up ratio. Fish it like you would your favorite paddle tail, but keep these things in mind. The Trout Thumper will fall more slowly and evenly than a soft plastic on a jig head. You’ll be able to work the Bugg more slowly if you choose. If you’re fishing in shallow water you’ll find it easier to keep the Trout Thumper off the bottom and out of the grass. This new Trout Thumper just might become your new favorite! The Coastal Combo will include Dawn Patrol, Mardi Gras, Chained Beast, Electric Chicken, and the new Black Gold color (yes, same as the 2nd Gen Curl-Tail you love so much!). These colors work best in murky water. The Clearwater Combo will include Ghost, Gray Ghost, Croaker, Greenback, and the new Blue Glimmer color. This new color comes with a matching 3″ grub and incorporates the SlowRoll concept, with the flutter action of the grub as it falls. These colors work best in clearer water. Complete recipes, tying instructions, and tying video are available.

Yes! We sell replacements on the site. You can also take any paddle tail in your box, cut the last 2″ off, and use that. The tail is held on by a custom screw lock attached to a stainless steel wire. Super simple to replace.
